I haven't tested it yet, but I think you can add the header by using Custom CSS and tinkering with the #header class: #header {background: url (http://headerurlhere...);}.
Oh, skimming back, there's a post on adding header here. Dreamwidth styles are universal? For lack of better word and the tips in the comments should work on any styles.
