i tested several things and then deleted the posts so i sadly do not have a record of what i did. i should have left them! i didn't think about a trail of breadcrumbs for diagnosis. *facepalm* see, I learned something there.

but I'm almost certain it was the quote marks and also I was probably leaving out the space between user and name.
