I know that one can set up a feed, but is there a place where you can check to see if somebody has already done that, first?

They can be combined. Just put in a support request to do so and a site admin will combine them.

I know that there's two feeds for the Thistle Threads blog too. When I was looking for it, 2 different folks gave me two different feeds .....
