cross posting?

I notice I can cross post to my LJ account. how do I do this? They are asking for log in. I am assuming its what you use to log in to the LJ account.... but I was trying the Open ID version. (no dice)

You enter the username and password that you use to log in to LJ where it asks for it on the crossposting setup page, and then you're good to go! :)
wychwood: it's always more complicated (gen - IAMC)

I'm not sure from your post exactly where you're having the problem, so I apologise if I explain too much.

- You should be logged into DW as your regular DW account
- If you go to the update page: http://www.dreamwidth.org/update.bml there's a ticky box at the bottom that says "crosspost this entry". Underneath that are more ticky boxes for accounts you've set up to crosspost to.
- If you want to crosspost to an account you haven't already set up, go to here:
http://www.dreamwidth.org/manage/settings/?cat=othersites
and follow the instructions there. You should enter the username and password for the site you want to crosspost to, not for DW - and it's just your journal name (eg whitechii) not your full URL or anything (whitechii.livejournal.com, etc). This isn't the same as your OpenID; it needs the information you would put into the other site (eg LJ) to post there.
- Make sure the "crosspost" box and the box for your account are both checked, then post.
