Reading Circle

I've heard rumors that there's a way to read your LJ friends page from Dreamwidth. Is this a feature that will only be available in open beta or is it something that's not being planned?

We have it planned! We'd been hoping to get to it for open beta, but are going to have to push it out a bit; it will be shortly thereafter, though.

Oooh, I was just wondering about this earlier today! Does this mean that we'll be able to read our friends pages from any LJ clone as well?

Yes, we'll implement it for any LJ-clone that has a semi-modern codebase -- it'll depend on whether or not they support the certain protocol modes we're using to check.

Qu regarding the current friends import & LJ friends page

I imported my LJ friends over tonight (they came in with my granting them access and not as my being subscribed and look like OPENID's) and am wondering if that's the foundation for what will be an amazing feature - i.e. being able to read my f-list there, from here.

I love the amount of creative drive, thought, enthusiasm and sheer inspiration that's evidently going into the coding. Dreamwidth will quite literally be l<3ve and not just a labour of love.

woo! I'm really excited to hear this. I was gonna give you money anyway, but when that's implemented I'll be moving everything over. I just couldn't face the idea of trying to keep up with two separate friendslists.
