But I like the "light style"

Is there any way to default to "light style" all the time?  It's by far the easiest to read, and I find I'm always clicking to it when I get to a pale blue site with slightly less pale blue lettering...

"light style" is the Lynx site scheme. Go to "manage account", the "display" tab, and pick Lynx, and any pages that disply in site scheme will display in light style. On that same page, you can check "View comment pages from your Reading Page in your own style", and make other people's comment pages show up in your style.

If you haven't set comment pages in your style to appear in site scheme yet, you can do that by going to the very bottom of the 'customize journal style page', and you should see a checkbox labelled "Show entry pages in my journal style rather than the app style". Check that box. Now all comment pages from your reading page should show up in light style.

Hey, thanks! Somehow I thought it would be under "Choose Style"...

For some reason, "View all journals and communities in your own style" is disabled - any idea why? It didn't matter what style I had selected.

Do you have a free account? I think that's only available to Paid subscribers. (I haven't looked it up in the documentation, I just tested by trying to go there with my second account which is a free account and finding the same thing as you.)

You know, I bet one could write a Greasemonkey script to automatically append format=light to all the pages. I like it too!

Dunno about Greasemonkey, but I've got a format=light bookmarklet:

I do as well, and I assume Tree does - but I think we are both talking about something automagic to avoid the extra click!

One of the reasons I ♥ DW is that little "Reload page in: light style" on the top right of every page. I just find myself clicking it A LOT.

My_Livejournal_Style works -- I'm using it right now! :) It does it by reloading the page, but it would be nice to have the links changed before you click them. And I tried this last weekend, and it does work if you find/replace "style=mine" with "format=light".

I'm pretty confused because format=light is my favorite, too, and I thought that it was the same as lynx, but then, no, it appears to be different on DW, and... I don't know. Maybe it is the same and I'm just confused. /ramble

I've got a Greasemonkey script like that! Unfortunately I'm in England for the next forthnight so I can't access my computer and find out where I got it. (And I probably won't be able to access a computer at all after today, the things I endure for the opportunity of meeting fellow fans :-)
