Friends friends

Apologies if it's been asked already.

On Livejournal, you could append friendsfriends after your Livejournal URL and see a "Friends of Friends" reading page, where public entries by your friends' friends were listed.

Does Dreamwidth have a similar feature?

Thanks in advance!

Dreamwidth is planning a similar feature (which will be called 'network') but it isn't in place yet. I don't think there's an ETA set yet to have it done, but it's definitely coming.

To be honest, I have found this singularly unuseful. Maybe I just have too many friends for a workable foaf (friend of a friend) list, but it would be made palatable by filters: No communities, RSS feeds, and the like.

Actually, I think you can do this in LJ already! One of the many undocumented nifty features there.

On any friends or friendsfriends page on LJ, you can put ?show=P on the end of the URL, and it'll load only personal journals. ?show=C will load only communities, and ?show=Y does feeds.

(There may be a way to do that other than editing the URLs, but if so, I don't know it.)

Oh, that's very useful information. Thanks! Sometimes when I'm browsing FOF, I feel that if I see one more 'ohnotheydidnt' or political blog, I'll hurt myself. LOL

The code to generate a 'friendsfriends' page is in Core2, I noticed it last night while trying to figure something out.
