Ttracking Invite Codes

I'm not sure if this is the right to place to ask this, but I have a question about invite codes... not how to get one, lol, but instead, what happens after you give them away? Like, are they trackable? If a couple weeks from now I forget who I gave them to but am struck by an attack of OMG NEED TO KNOW, will it show up in my account info somewhere? Or is DW tracking them somewhere (privately), charting who each user invited, and who they invited, and who they invited, and so on and so forth? IDK. Just thinking that data might be interesting (to DW, anyway) at some point, later.

You will be able to track invite codes here : http://www.dreamwidth.org/manage/circle/invite.bml .

I had to sit here and giggle for a moment before answering this.

http://www.dreamwidth.org/manage/invitecodes.bml gives you a list of all the invite codes you've had, and shows which ones have been used (and which accounts were created with those codes). If you lose that link, you can get to it by clicking on Invite Someone and then following the link that says "your complete list of invite codes".

The reason I'm laughing... did you by chance grab an invite code from @houseelf over on Twitter? If so, hello and welcome to Dreamwidth. *g* I was completely confused for a moment when I went to grab the url just now and saw your name pop up on my alter-ego's used invite page.

DW will track when the invite was sent; check the Invite Someone page and concomitant Your Complete List Of Invite Codes page. I don't recall if it tracks who you send an invite to, but it might. In any event, until they accept the invite code is active and you can send out the code to another person. I've had to do this, as friends procrastinate.

When they accept the invitation, you're notified, and they're listed in the page above.

The notifications don't stack; you only know you're own invitees.
