Importing Smooth Sailing?

Hello,

I've followed the directions several times.

I can get the journal "look" right, however, when I go to comments on any entry, the icons and user names of the people commenting on that entry are completely stripped out, leaving only the comments themselves.

Really. It's making me bang my head against the wall at this point. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I've followed directions from here and here to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you have your layers set to 'core1' or to 'core2'?

'core1' is the old LJ version of the styles set-up, 'core2' is the new DW version.

If you've used core2, that's okay, there are just some 'additional' steps you'll need to take to make it work. I've just put together a post with links to what those steps are here.

If you still have questions - let us know and we'll point one of the styles 'experts' in your direction! =)

I've tried both Core 1 and Core 2.

But I see your directions. When I have more time to futz around, I'll definitely try your suggestions to see if it'll work.

I'm seeing names and icons okay on your journal at the moment. If you can post a screenshot, I'll see if I can think of anything else.

Thank's because I switched back to negative space, so I'm not dealing with the mess I kept getting into just at the moment.

I'm going to try something else first. I may bug you again if the fix listed in the responses don't work.

If you're using core 1 you'll need to remove the two flag related lines from the layout layer (the compiler will give you the lines to erase out as it finds them XD). You should be good to go after that ^_^

I love Smooth Sailing (it has been my LJ style for years), but I thought it was proprietary and you weren't allowed to use it on non-LJ sites at all. That there was some sort of license that forbids you to take Smooth Sailing elsewhere. Did I miss something? Is it allowed to use it as individual user, just a whole site can't or something?
