n00by questions
Hi. I'm really fed up with LJ, and I've decided to start using my DW as my primary journal.
Accordingly:
1. How do I change the alignment of my style modules from left to right?
2. Can I crosspost using Semagic? If not, is there another client I can crosspost with? At the moment I'm stuck with Windows XP, but I'll be moving back to Linux in a few months, when I finish saving up for my new computer.
3. How do I customise the navigation strip colour?
That's it for now. Thanks. I'm sure I'll think of more questions soon.

http://www.dreamwidth.org/customize/#layout
Which will let you change your basic page setup. There is a "2 Column (sidebar on right)" option. If you want to keep three columns but just change around which modules are in each one, go here:
http://www.dreamwidth.org/customize/options?group=modules
Where you can place modules in either group one or group two.
2. People have kept notes on compatible clients here: http://wiki.dwscoalition.org/notes/Compatible_clients
3. You can customize light/dark here: http://www.dreamwidth.org/customize/options
Anything other than that and you'll need to customize CSS in your theme, and it'll only be that color while you're in your style! If you need more info on that, say so, and someone is bound to help.

Alternatively, you could set your DW to auto-crosspost all entries to LJ and then just post to DW.

You can edit your cross-posting settings such that everything you post, no matter from where, gets cross-posted, which is convenient: http://www.dreamwidth.org/manage/settings/?cat=othersites

In Semagic you can post to many sites but if you need to edit the post later on you have to go back to each individual post. On DW, you can edit the DW post and it will edit all the other crossposts.
Dreamwidth uses all the LJ coding tags, but has come up with some new ones that are especially nifty for cross posting.
for instance (sans > <)
lj user="justhuman" shows me as
- DW because we're here on DW, but if this was crossposted to LJ it would have the LJ head and link to the LJ journal
user name="justhuman" shows as
-This shows up the same in all the crossposts always links to DW
user name="justhuman", site="livejournal.com" shows as
-Like the previous one, it shows up the same on other sites and is highly useful to referring to other people
You can only use these from the DW interface
Also, you can set up for automatic crossposting by change the settings on any individual post to post to a different selection of journals.
