Updating import?

Hi there. When I first joined DW, I imported my LJ blog. Since then, mostly out of habit, I've still been primarily using LJ rather than posting here and cross-posting to LJ. I'd like to start moving more permanently over here, and am wondering if it's now possible to import the blog entries from LJ between when I last imported and now. If I submit another import request, will I get duplicates for the (4 years or so) worth that I've already imported?

It will update anything that has changed since your last import.

Does that include comments?

What I mean is:
If I have posted an entry to both DW and LJ, and it's gotten comments on LJ, what happens if I try to import? Will I get duplicate entries, will the entries with the LJ comments overwrite their DW twins, or will nothing get updated?

If you check the option to update comments, it will update any comments that have been added or edited since the first import. You won't get duplicates.

Wow. That's... stunning. Dreamwidth, you're wowing me once more!

...Thank you so much for explaining.

You are welcome. It's a cool feature.
