Importing from Wordpress

At the moment, you can only import from LiveJournal-based hosts, but does anyone know when it will be possible to import content from Wordpress-based blogs? Is this in the works or did it get put on the back burner? [ETA: a bug is filed on this in Bugzilla, but no-one's volunteered to code it yet]

I use wordpress BUT I host it myself which means I can download and install plugins.

I am currently using journalpress, which crossposts/mirrors to DW, LJ, and InsaneJournal (and other LJ clones; those are the 3 I use).

If you're using wordpress and it's hosted on wp's site, I don't know if you can access plugins without paying an additional fee... or at all.
