Hi

I make here public posts but I'd like them to becrossposted to LJ with friends-only access. Is it possible or have I fix it manually every time?

I believe it works if you set up your default posting on LJ to be flocked. You can do that in the settings of your journal over there.
I hope that is helpful!

Bugger. I've been doing it the way you want for a couple of years.

Do be aware though, that if you edit a post on DW, because of an after thought or typo, that will change the x-post to have the same privacy setting as it currently on DW.

There's actually a setting now that lets you control the minimum security level on crossposts. Go to Manage Accounts -> Other Sites, then click on the Details link for your crosspost account. There should be an option there for 'Minimum Security', which you can set to Public, Friends, or Private. If you choose Friends or Private, then that security level will be maintained through edits.

It's kind of hard to find, but it's there. :)

Yep - I use it, and love it, and it works. :)

Me, too. Editing posts on DW is now safe!

I've been on DW for two years and didn't know about that setting. THANK YOU. You rock.

Now I won't have fix every entry manually when I edit it. Wow.

It only showed up in October of last year, so it's not like it's been around forever.

I must have missed it when it was first announced. Thanks!
