This is going to sound dumb, but...

How do you create a secondary journal? I've looked in the FAQs, and I can't find anything.

AFAIK, just the same way you created your first journal. You log out, then use an invite code to create a new account (or pay for a paid account).

I believe there are plans to set things up so you can "tie" a secondary account to your main account and switch back and forth without logging out, but this hasn't been coded yet.

So to switch back and forth, you have to log out of one account and then log into the other.

You go to the Create Account page and create the account as described there. There is currently no way to link your primary and secondary account to make managing them easier, but that may be a future feature.

Alternatively, you can create a community, which you can manage from your primary account by being owner and moderator. However, a personal account and a community can not be used in the same way, and depending what you need a secondary account for it may not be the best option.

I've submitted a request for the creating-a-secondary-journal must-be-logged-out scenario to be added to http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse?faqid=2; thank you very much for pointing out this hole in the documentation.

Actually, the easiest way to create a secondary journal is by going to your Invite Someone page, then clicking the link at the top to see your complete list of invite codes. You'll then see a list of codes with "Use this code" links next to them. You can just click the link next to the code of your choice to create a new account; you don't need to be logged out first!

You'll still need to log out and in to switch between them once it's already created, but not for the initial creation step.
