Tutorial: tables

I recently did a tutorial on how to code simple tables for Dreamwidth, because the HTML used on this site is a little different from other journalling platforms, and someone pointed me here as a good place to link to it! Here's the tutorial, I hope it's helpful to someone.

Why use tables at all? Good for tabulated data, but for display stuff surely some CSS placed block elements would work better and be easier to learn?

That would be the more elegant solution, but I actually couldn't get it to work :U I had problems getting the entry to parse it as CSS code rather than text. Any suggestions?
