Cut malfuction

 I don't know if this is because livejournal changed how their cut works but when I try to make a cut on dreamwidth that crossposts to livejournal, dream shows the full text on the journal entry instead of cutting off that extra text and hiding it.  Does anyone have this problem and if, so, how to fix it?

As of yesterday, cuts were still working on my DW & cross-posted LJ entries; they seem to be working on your journal too, what entries aren't working properly?

Well that's weird!

I see other people on my RL doing cut-tags & cross-posts, so you seem to be unlucky in some way. =< When you go into "edit entry," what code do you have for the cut tag?

Just <cut text= and nothing else?

Okay, so maybe you've found a bug in the rich text editor (which I see downthread you use). For now, if you either put in

<cut>

or

<cut text="my cut text here">

does that fix it?

I'm afraid I don't quite follow you, but I'm glad you got it sorted out!

Sounds like a bug to me--if you've the time and energy, you might consider reporting it to http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/ for the help of others.

(By the way, if you're putting something in brackets -- < > -- they're getting eaten because DW thinks they're bad HTML. Putting spaces between the bracket & the text will help next time.)

This will help even more than that: http://www.raffoul.ca/users/masterslacker/ljhtmlparser.php

(I swear we should make a DW comm just to promote this tool!)

(Oh! And whoever made this tool? Seriously wins all of the Internets forever.)

How are you posting your cuts? "lj-cut" or "cut"?
