Err... my last two entries didn't crosspost to LJ. What did I do wrong?

In the past, it worked beautifully, as you can see on my DW page for my public entries (it also worked wonderfully for the flocked ones. But the latest two flocked entries don't have the 'crossposts: LJ link' thing. Is there a bug or did I forget something? *is confused*

I'd appreciate someone more tech- and DW-savy educating me about any possible failure on my part! :-)

Also, I got this when I tried to tag this entry with 'crossposting': "Tags error: You are not allowed to tag entries in this journal." Uhm?

If it's been working until now, you may not have done anything wrong. Do you have a message in your inbox that says something like 'your entry has failed to crosspost'?

No, no such message. That said, apparently it now takes longer than usual because my crossposted entries did turn up on LJ after all! And I was already worried that there would've been some snazzy new feature in a recent update that I missed...

If LJ has any downtime, then crossposts attempted during that period will fail.

It didn't, that's why I was wondering, but that said, apparently it now takes longer than usual because my crossposted entries did turn up on LJ after all! And I was already worried that there would've been some snazzy new feature in a recent update that I missed...

That's where crosspost failure messages go; the last friend of mine who had problems crossposting had changed her password on LJ but not updated it in the crossposter.


About tagging, it's not a very friendly error, but that's the error that happens when only community admins can tag and someone who's not an admin tries to.

Oho! And I haven't done anything administrative with this community in a while, and it looks like there are some new settings and I'm an admin. (Sometimes I lose track of what I help admin with and what I don't.) I just updated the settings so both the person posting the entry and the admins can tag entries now. :)

Sometimes LJ can be finicky about replying, so DW tries several times with lengthening periods in between tries to get it to work before it admits defeat and sends a failure notification.
