There's an Accessibility Problem

Hi!

I've been told that recently--say, the past week or so--people have been coming to a comm that I co-mod (which transferred to Dreamwidth earlier this year), but they haven't been able to access it. This is happening with both Firefox and Chrome users, and is occurring both when they go directly to the blog and when they try to follow links to specific posts. In both cases, the server redirects indefinitely, so that they are effectively locked out of the comm.

As I said, this is very recent. We have made no changes recently to our comm's settings. Frankly, I am at a loss as to what could be causing this.

a) Does anyone know what is causing it? If so, what?

b) Does anyone know how to fix it? If so, how?

Try them turning off HTTPS Everywhere? There was an update where it kept trying to redirect in a loop.

Ask them to disable it in their browser. If they don't have it, there's a different problem.

I think Dreamwidth is now all-SSL by default, so if your friends are trying to use old urls for the comm you mod (i.e. versions of urls that have 'http' instead of 'https') it's possible that there's something blocking the redirect to the https version. Try having them manually add in the 's' into the url if it's a http one, and see if they can access that version of the link.

When I noticed the issue I thought that it was a problem caused by firefox and I tried to access some comms on here with Internet Explorer and even with Microsoft Edge but the problem was still there.

I have the problem when I am logged in and when I am logged out

Have you submitted a Support Request to DW Support about this yet? If not, I recommend doing so!
