I realize that the last two posts on the filters tag are about this exact issue, but it's been several months and I would rather know for sure, so please forgive my redundancy.

Is there a way to crosspost DW/LJ to the same access/friends filter?

When setting up the footer for crossposted entries there is the option to use %%comment_image%% which gives the comment number for the DW entry. Is there any way to make the background on the counter transparent/not white?

I've just switched from a separate aggregator application to following feeds on my DW reading page. Unfortunately, the entire post for each is displayed for every update, which makes it pretty cumbersome to wade through what I'd like to read. Is there any option to automatically put the contents of every feed post under a cut when displayed on my reading page?

I've been looking some pages back and couldn't find anything resembling my question, so sorry if it's been asked before...

I'm moving here permanently from LJ and think about importing my entries. now my question is, if I import entries with comments, do the commenters (from LJ) get somehow notified about me having an account here on DW? Like OpenID or something? I'm not very good with such things... ^^ help is greatly appreciated. tia. :)

I've never created a feed, so please forgive cluelessness.

Can an RSS feed of an LJ comm somehow include the username of the person posting, or is it just the body of the post getting in?

I'm reading the

sga_noticeboard through

sga_noticeboard_feed. If I want to know who announced a fic there, I have to click through to the LJ entry to see their name. Can this be fixed in a feed, or do I ask the mods over there if anything can be done?

A few days ago I created a custom mood theme, but it took me a little while to figure out how to create a custom theme without having to copy & past hundreds of links... I'm probably not the only one experiencing this problem, so I thought I could share my newly acquired skills with other Dreamwidth:ers ^^

I'd love to have drafts for multiple posts going at once, but I'm not sure if that's an option. If it is, how would I choose to work on one particular draft as opposed to another? Any clarification y'all can offer would be much appreciated.

This is very strange. I have someone on my subscription list who is, as far as I can tell, not showing up my reading page. I've looked and looked and I cannot think of a single reason why she's not there. Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot this, or if I should take it to the higher ups?

What's the status of getting HTML to work on profile pages?

Right now there are a lot of tags that display when a profile is viewed through Lynx or Celerity, but not Tropospherical. Mine, for instance, has some font sizing tags (both "font size" and "span style") which have no effect in the default view.

Apparently this was "being sorted out" six or seven months ago, and I made a post on

dw_suggestions a while back (can't find it at the moment, I'm afraid) that got encouraging responses, but there's been no change since.

So can anybody tell me what's up?

So I was goofing around in layout and I made the sticky post thing for my fiction index (have had it on top using post-dating).

so now...I have it showing up on my journal twice. As a sticky, and then the post date entry. I checked the FAQ, but didn't see it covering this.

Basically...what do I do now?

Um...should I just change the date to let the original entry slide away?

Delete the post-date version (will that make them both disappear)?

When I used to have an InsaneJournal, I was able to create layers for LJ layouts they did not have (eg: Flexible Squares, Smooth Sailing). I am trying to do the same with my DW account because I love Flexible Squares and have quite a few layouts which use that particular template.

However, when I go to S2, click "Your Layers", create one, paste in the code, and hit "compile/save" -- I get errors. This is the same layer code I've implemented on InsaneJournal and Inksome.

Is there something I'm missing or am I SOL? ;-)

boji's recent post reminded me of something I'd been wondering for a while: if I wanted to copy the images that make up the mood theme I use on LJ and use them to create the same mood theme on Dreamwidth, are there any rights issues there, or are LJ mood themes considered public property once created? I am not the person who created the theme on LJ.

I downloaded a mood theme (created my an LJ user) and wanted to import it here. After uploading the 133 png's to photobucket, I followed the instructions at Admin console, pasted in the relevant codes (i.e. the four digit number and url where the picture is pasted) and got nothing but error images from photobucket.

When I looked at the mood theme codes - through the link via customize style - I saw that DW had added pre-named moods to the end of each png url so rather than read [first part of url here then/accomplised.png] for instance, it reads:

[first part of url here then/accomplised.pngangry.png]

The latter definition having been added by dreamwidth.

Does anyone know of a work around?

Embedding videos from YT:

When I imported my entries over from LJ, embedded videos from YT failed to materialise. I knew this was a known issue at the time. I planned to follow the FAQ advice (at a later date) and re-paste in embed code from YT into the relevant entries.

I tried that tonight and the code still doesn't register or show to a/any video. I just get a broken icon and a white dotted line around the space where the vid should be. This also happens if I try to embed a video into a new post.

Anyone know why this is?
And if there is a work around?

I have made some custom CSS tweaks on my dreamwidth ( popped back here just in case: )

But I very much doubt that these are what's interfering. They seem really basic - which of course is why I managed to plonk them in the CSS box successfully to begin with! *grin*

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So, I had a Mixwit Theme layer, and I knew how to mess around with its CSS (a little, anyway), but I decided to change my layout to Tropical (Summer Holiday). Any italicized word in my entries are now colored blue. I want to change that, but I can't figure out how to get into the CSS. Help? (Apologies if this isn't on-topic for the comm, or if this is a really stupid question.)

Hey guys!

Right now one of the links under my header (the one pointing to my DW network) is titled 'unknown view'. Does anyone know how to make it say 'network' or something like that?

I'm pretty sure it can be done, cause my 'memories' link also appeared as 'unknown view' at first till some css-savvy soul posted a few lines of code that I had to insert into my stylesheet.
